Upload videos from your iPad with YouTube Capture The YouTube Capture iOS app is now universal, letting iPad videographers upload videos straight from their tablet.

If you are frustrated that YouTube's iOS app doesn't let you upload videos, then you missed YouTube Capture's release last December. Google decided to keep video uploading separate from video viewing. YouTube Capture made it easy to capture, lightly edit, and upload videos from your iPhone or iPod Touch, but there was no love shown for those who wanted to perform such a trick with an iPad. Now, with yesterday's update, YouTube Capture is universal, bringing iPad videographers into the fold.

After installing the app, you'll need to sign in to your YouTube account, allow the app to access your Camera Roll, and say yes or no to three settings: color correction, image stabilization, landscape lock. I agreed to all three and particularly like the third setting, which prevents me from accidentally shooting videos in portrait mode. You can also link the app to your Google+, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.

After this initial setup process, there is a fourth setting you might want to enable: rotate to begin recording. With it turned on, you don't need to tap the record button to start recording: simply launch the app and rotate it into landscape mode to start recording. While in settings, you can also choose from two upload quality settings: 360p or 720p.

Once you have captured a video, you can choose to use the color correction and stabilization tools, and you can also trim the beginning and end of your video before uploading it. You can also choose from among 21 YouTube soundtracks. You can adjust the level of this background music, but you can't upload your own track for Google's fear of copyright violation. Lastly, YouTube Capture lets you select a privacy setting and share your video on Google+, Facebook, and Twitter.

Watch YouTube videos in a floating window on Android

Wish your phone had the split-screen multitasking feature that is available on the Samsung Galaxy Note II? Now you can grab some of that functionality for YouTube videos.

Watch YouTube videos in a floating window on Android
If you own an Android tablet, or just a phone with a huge screen, watching YouTube videos while you perform other tasks can be superconvenient. Perhaps you're checking e-mail and watching videos from your favorite band, or maybe you're watching a scene from a play and following along in the script. This split-screen feature is available on the Samsung Galaxy Note II, but hasn't rolled out to many other handsets. Ready to add more multitasking power to your device?

First you'll need to install a copy of Floating YouTube Popup Video on your Android device, then follow these steps:
Step 1: Open a video through the native YouTube app.
Step 2: Press the Share button at the top of the screen and then choose the Floating YouTube app from the list.
Step 3: Position or resize the floating YouTube window on your screen.

The controls for the video will be fully functional, but be warned that the video may restart after moving it around on some devices.
What do you think? Is splitting a small screen on a phone stretching the limits too far?
