Sony Ericsson Xperia Play - Gorgeous Smartphone With 3G Features

Sony Ericsson continues to deliver high tech and feature perfect gadgets that are built and designed to multitask. The Xperia Play is the new generation handset from Sony Ericsson and there is no doubt that you will like it at first sight. The phone offers smart features and promises a unique experience you would never had before. Sony is credited with manufacturing some of the best smartphones but Xperia PlayStation tells a different story. The latest Sony mobile is an exceptional bend of technology, design and features.
Sony is known for its earnest efforts it puts in developing mobiles that could score high on every quotient including quality and user friendliness. The Xperia Play is a dream phone that comes in elegant shape and size. The phone is just 16 mm thick and weighs only 175 g. Its 119X62 mm size makes it quite convenient to hold and carry. The phone is neither too big nor too small. It is just perfect. The screen is 4 inches hence you will feel no problem in reading text messages or mails. In addition, the 4 inch screen is wide enough to watch movies, view videos and play games.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play contains PSP like gaming button for superior gaming experience. You will be amazed to find how interesting games are there in the Xperia. If they are not enough, you are allowed to download more intriguing games into your unit. The motion and gesture gaming feature will never let you feel tired when playing games on mobile. Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is not just about gaming but you can also use it as a camera and capture every moment of life you find worth clicking.

The powerful 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash light makes Xperia Play the best camera phone one can have. It also has a secondary camera. Sony has fitted a WVGA camera in the Xperia Play for making videos. Together all these features can make even a decent camera from Sony redundant before Xperia Play. A look at the music features will convince you that the phone can also play songs in stereophonic sound. Its large memory can store thousands of songs, videos and pictures. You can download movies from Internet to watch at free time on your personal 4 inch screen.
The best of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is yet to be unveiled. There is a 1 GHz Scorpion processor embedded in the phone and this processor is powerful enough to turn your phone into a smart pocket computer. It facilitates high speed data transfer and enjoys 3G support. You can also take advantage of GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB port. The phone runs on Android OS and boasts Java MIDP emulator. As a proud owner of Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, you can view and edit document and also enjoy YouTube, Google Talk and much more. The battery lasts long and recharges in less time. For other features, you have to buy the phone.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play - The PlayStation Phone

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play adopts the impressive Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It also comes packed with a 1GHz dual core processor, a 4 inch screen and 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, touch focus and video record and the front facing camera is on hand for video calls. 3D maps allow you to explore new places and Google voice search delivers voice-activated calling, messaging and much more. Other features include Wi-Fi, 3G/HSDPA, Bluetooth and an entertainment package consisting of a multimedia player and pre-loaded Facebook, Twitter and YouTube applications.
What makes the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play stand out from other smartphones though is the slide-out game pad that makes it more of a portable games device than a mobile phone. The game controls slide out from behind the 4 inch touchscreen and combined with incredible graphics and stereo sound the Play gives you a truly fantastic gaming experience. It also comes pre loaded with some great games such as Asphalt 6 and Crash Bandicoot.
Although the touch-screen gaming controls are not as responsive and precise as we would hope and the camera is only of average quality for a recent smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is still a big leap forward in mobile gaming. As a gaming device alone it is not as specialised as a Nintendo DS or Sony PlayStation Portable and to be fair we would not expect to see a smartphone that is, not just yet anyway!
But it's the slide-out game pad that truly has gamers excited. You will notice that the button layout resembles that of a PlayStation controller, with the PlayStation controls on the right and directional pad on the left. It even has the left and right shoulder buttons along the sides. However, taking the place of the two analogue joysticks are two touch-sensitive circles.

The Xperia Play is "PlayStation-certified," but it is not part of the PlayStation Network, and you may have to buy your favourite PlayStation games all over again for the new device.
Hardcore games may prefer to stick with a dedicated hand held gaming device for now but for the rest of us who fancy something new to pass away the time with when we are travelling or just bored then this, for now, is the phone to have.
Our overall opinion is that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play delivers a fantastic PlayStation game experience and one that's coupled with every thing you could want from a top-end smartphone!
